Quick Summary
What You Need to Know
- ✔ Blackstone has opened its second India office, a global capability centre in Bengaluru, alongside its Mumbai headquarters.
- ✔ The centre will run finance, technology, HR, legal and compliance operations from about 4.5 lakh sq ft on the Outer Ring Road.
- ✔ Bengaluru already hosts more than 1,100 GCCs and draws nearly one in three new GCC investments in India.
- ✔ Smaller firms competing for the same finance and compliance talent can start with an employer of record instead of an entity.
Blackstone, the world’s largest alternative asset manager, has opened a global capability centre in Bengaluru. It is the firm’s second India office, and it will run finance, technology, HR, legal and compliance work for the group. GCC Pulse reported the opening on 5 November.
That matters if you hire fund accountants, compliance analysts or finance engineers in India. Another global name is now bidding for them in the same corridor. Again.
You don’t need a 4.5 lakh sq ft office to compete. The best EOR in India can put your first finance and operations hires on payroll in days, without an Indian entity.

“We are proud to deepen our presence in India with a new office in Bengaluru,” said Michael Chae, Vice Chairman and Chief Financial Officer, as GCC Pulse reported.
Susan Yung has more than 25 years in finance and lived in Bengaluru earlier while at Goldman Sachs. So the centre is led by someone who knows the city’s talent market first-hand.
Why Are Finance Firms Building GCCs in Bengaluru?

For the talent pool and the scale. Bengaluru has more than 1,100 GCCs and attracts nearly one in three new GCC investments in India, ThePrint reported.
Blackstone manages nearly $1.4 trillion. It plans to double its India investments from $51 billion to $100 billion over five years, Karnataka IT Minister Priyank Kharge said, according to ThePrint.
India has 2,117 GCCs in all, per the Zinnov-Nasscom 2026 GCC report. This week alone, Gilead, AstraZeneca and DSV grew theirs, as our GCC news roundup shows.
What Does This Mean for Companies Hiring in India?
Harder hiring for finance operations, compliance and legal talent in Bengaluru, especially on the Outer Ring Road. A Blackstone offer is hard to beat on brand alone.
So compete where you can win. Speed is one. Move faster, offer real ownership and benchmark pay against average salaries in India for each role. Expect counter offers and close quickly once a candidate says yes.
Look beyond Bengaluru too. Pune, Hyderabad and Chennai all have strong finance and compliance pools, as our guide to GCC hubs in India compares.
Do You Need Your Own GCC to Hire Finance Talent in India?
No. Most mid-market funds, fintechs and family offices start with an employer of record and build a centre only once headcount justifies it.
Take a five-person fund operations team. On Remunance’s EOR, fees run 5 × USD 99 to USD 249, or USD 495 to USD 1,245 a month.
No entity. No lease. No local board.
Setting up your own entity takes 10 to 16 weeks, as our guide to the cost of setting up a GCC in India explains. Our guide to building a GCC through the EOR model shows how to start lean and move later.
